Defending against a diplomatic victory should be pretty straightforward - with growing resources you should be able to bribe your way into getting enough votes in the World Congress to keep other nations from achieving the necessary majority. The only way I've been able to achieve a domination victory so far was in a 3-player map where I conquered one civilization, then the only one remaining stayed within a really small area, so that I didn't HAVE to kill him. In the last stages of the game, the greatest threat for you is probably the fact that someone is already close to achieving a scientific victory. The AI's are not very good at attacking walled cities, but their knights might put an end to your swordsmen rush. I've been away from the forums for a while, so I'm not sure if some of the general consensus have shifted. Again, I can imagine that some players would find this useless or comment that it is similar to looking at spoilers, but others, like me, might find this an exciting way of learning to know the game more thoroughly.
